Altar Servers

St John XXIII Parish invites you to become an Altar Server! We welcome any student in Grade 4 or above to join this important ministry in our Church.

What does an Altar Server do?

An Altar Server helps the priest at Mass. You will lead the procession into and out of Mass. You will do various functions at the Mass like setting up the Altar, leading the procession into Church, ringing the bells and gong.
assisting at the time of the Offertory and preparation of the Gifts of Bread and Wine.

What is required of servers?

All girls and boys in the 4th Grade and above who have made their First Communion are eligible.
In addition, you must have these qualities:
v Eagerness — to serve Our Lord at his table.
v Reverence — to honour Our Lord by being attentive.
v Responsibility — to be on time to serve when coming to Mass.
