Living Stations of the Cross

This Good Friday (Apr 3) evening Stations of the Cross, will be a special “Living Stations of the Cross” at 19:00 in the Church. This devotion recalls the various events along our Lord Jesus Christ’s journey on the day He died. The Stations event will feature a number of John XXIII choirs, Confirmation class students, and reflections contributed by members of our Parish community. Please join us to commemorate our Lord’s Passion and Death.

Following the stations, Lenten soup will be served in the Parish House. All are welcome.


flower_ministry Ikebana Workshop

The Flower Arrangement & Environment Ministry will hold a workshop on Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. The workshop will involve hands-on flower arranging.
The deadline for registration is Apr 3 (Fri).

passion Lenten Evening Reflection

Thank you to those who attended last Monday’s session. The next session will take place at 19:15 in the Chapel on Mar 30 (Mon) at 19:15 and will feature Mel Gibson’s film “The Passion of Christ”. This film viewing is recommended only for adults.

Preparations will soon start for our 2015 Parish Kermesse!

The Friday Family Feast will take place on June 5 (Fri), and the Kermesse will be on June 6 (Sat).

As a major event in our Parish, the Annual Kermesse brings everyone together as one big family to raise funds for the many outreach programmes of the parish, and to have fun! It’s a great occasion for people of all ages to make new friends, win fabulous prizes, enjoy fun activities, purchase great bargains and savor delicious food from around the world!!!! Do watch this spot for more news to come. For now, we are looking for volunteers to form our Kermesse Core Working Team who will lead the various preparations to make this another successful year!!! Volunteers who are willing to take a lead in any of the areas below are kindly requested to come forward. Please do not hesitate – our parish needs you!


ppc Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC will meet on April 23 (Thu) from 18:30-20:30. All chairpersons and coordinators of the various parish ministries and affiliated groups are invited to attend this meeting, as well as any interested parishioners. RSVP to the Parish Office.

Other Services


At Pope John XXIII Parish, a number of Masses and other services are celebrated such as:

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the Parish Chapel at Montbrillant every Friday from 18:00 to 19:00 except for the first Friday of every month when it takes place at 13:15.
  • Marriage: All couples planning to marry should register with us by calling the Parish Office. (Six months notice is the usual requirement.).
  • Funeral Services (Please contact the Parish Priest directly).
  • Baptism Services every 4th Saturday of the month at 12 noon except during the Christmas and Easter Seasons (Contact the Parish Office for more information).
  • The Sacrament of reconciliation (Confession) is available before and after each weekday Mass upon request or by prior arrangement. It will also be offered in the Chapel every Saturday from 17:15-18:00

Holy Week begins today. During Holy Week, the Church celebrates the mysteries of salvation accomplished by Christ, in the last days of his life on earth, beginning today (Palm Sunday) with his messianic entrance into Jerusalem.
The palms which we receive today are blessed. They should be taken home where they will serve as a reminder of the victory of Christ which we celebrated in procession.
Monday of Holy Week, our attention is now focussed on the great mystery of Christ, dying and rising. The sense of impending doom hovers over the actions of Jesus, like a lamb led to the slaughter.
