mark Annual Parish Retreat

Our Parish Annual Retreat (Open to all Parishioners) will take place at  the John Knox Center (27 Ch. des Crêts de Pregny, 1218 Grand-Saconnex) on Oct 3 (Sat) from 9:00 – 16:00 (tentative).  Guest speaker is Msg. Bob Vitillo who will focus on Pope Francis’ new encyclical “Laudato Si”.  Please register your attendance by e-mailing the Parish Office (office@johnxxiii.ch).  Parish Ministries (coordinators and members), Parish Affiliated Groups and PAC members, are especially invited to come.

New Parish Name

As of Aug 1, 2015, our Parish name has been changed to St. John XXIII Parish following the canonization of Pope John XXIII last year. All standing orders and donations done via bank transfer should be changed immediately. Our old name (i.e. Pope John XXIII Parish at St Nicolas de Flüe) will be honoured by the bank only up until October 2015. For details of our bank accounts, please click here.

sun Summer Mass Schedule

As is now customary, there will be no 8:30 Mass on Sunday mornings during the summer months of July and August. Our normal Mass Schedule will resume in September.
Please also note that during the summer, the Parish Office will be open Mon – Fri, from 9:00-12:00.


rcia:0 Journeying in Faith (RCIA)

If you, or someone you know would like to become a Catholic; if you are a Catholic but have not yet been confirmed; or if you simply want to know more about your faith, then “Come and See” on Sep 16 (Wed) at 19:30-21:00 in the Main Hall of the Parish House. Find out more about the “Journeying in Faith” Group, which will be initiated with you in mind.


Catechism Catechism Registration 2015-2016

Please register for catechism (2015-16) online, please click here. Instructions are available once you login.

  • If you are new to the Parish and wish to register your children in catechism, you must first register as a parishioner, which can also be done on-line.
  • Please be aware that there is limited space for all levels, especially Levels 2 and 4. For levels 2 and 4, one year of attendance at catechism prior to these sacramental years is required.
  • Priority will be given to children of catechists and volunteers.

If you wish to become a catechist or volunteer for the programme in any way, or for further information regarding registration, contact Jane Gannon at rec@johnxxiii.ch. A preview of the catechism classes can be viewed in this video. Enjoy!

ppc Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC will meet on Sep 14 (Mon) from 19:00-21:00. All chairpersons and coordinators of the various parish ministries and affiliated groups are invited to attend this meeting, as well as any interested parishioners. RSVP to the Parish Office.


SoupKitchen Soup Kitchen

On Sep 4 (Fri. lunchtime), our Parish will help out at the Soup Kitchen. Volunteers and cash donations are needed (any amount is welcome). Cash donations can be paid through the Parish Office. Should you have any questions, please email the parish office.

Other Services


At Pope John XXIII Parish, a number of Masses and other services are celebrated such as:

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the Parish Chapel at Montbrillant every Friday from 18:00 to 19:00 except for the first Friday of every month when it takes place at 13:15.
  • Marriage: All couples planning to marry should register with us by calling the Parish Office. (Six months notice is the usual requirement.).
  • Funeral Services (Please contact the Parish Priest directly).
  • Baptism Services every 4th Saturday of the month at 12 noon except during the Christmas and Easter Seasons (Contact the Parish Office for more information).
  • The Sacrament of reconciliation (Confession) is available before and after each weekday Mass upon request or by prior arrangement. It will also be offered in the Chapel every Saturday from 17:15-18:00
