On June 27 (Thursday), our renovated Parish House will be blessed and officially inaugurated. Parishioners are invited to gather in thanksgiving on this very special occasion.

Holy Mass at 18:30, which will be presided by our Bishop, Mgr. Charles Morerod and Auxiliary Bishop, Mgr. Pierre Farine, will concelebrate.  The blessing will be followed by a  reception.

Contributions of finger foods for the occasion will  be most welcome. Those who can help in any way are  kindly asked to inform the office at office(at)johnxxiii.ch

Thank you to all those who attended the General Assembly on June 12 (Wed), and to those who helped in the preparations and actively participated in the proceedings.  Handouts distributed during the GA will be published here soon.

Online Registration for Catechism 2013-14cathechism_logo

  • Please register for catechism HERE and follow the instructions. Those who do not have internet access can request an application form from the office. Completed forms should be returned no later than Aug 27 (Tue).
  • If you are new to the Parish and wish to register your children to catechism, your must first register as a parishioner, which can also be done online.
  • Please be aware that there will be limited space for all levels, especially Levels 2 and 4. For levels 2 and 4, one year of attendance at catechism prior to these sacramental years is required.
  • Priority will be given to children of catechists and volunteers.
  • If you wish to become a catechist or volunteer for the programme in any way, or for furhter information regarding registration, contact Jane Gannon at rec(at)johnxxiii.ch.

 Catechism Classes resume on September 29 (Sun).

The PPC will meet on Jun 19 (Wed) at 19:00 in the Main Hall of the Parish House. All ministry leaders (or their representatives) are strongly encouraged to attend. Important points will be discussed concerning worship and other activities in our new surroundings. This meeting is open to all interested parishioners

forgiven“Your sins are forgiven.”  (Lk. 7:48)

The episode of the sinful woman in the house of Simon the Pharisee in this Sunday’s Gospel is one of these passages where the teaching is so much connected to the action, that the former cannot be fully understood if it is detached from the latter.  The opening scene is silent.  There are no words, only silent gestures: A woman enters with an alabaster flask of ointment.  She nestles at Jesus’ feet, washes them with tears, dries them with her hair, and kissing them, douses them with the ointment from her flask.
